The Grove Short explores the quieter colours of citrus production, drawing on the deep greens of foliage and the sharp contrast of freshly cut limes. Each painted slice keeps the distinctive structure of the fruit, revealing the natural geometry beneath its skin.
The print is a reminder that agricultural work begins long before harvest. Many of the families in the archive have tended the same trees for generations, and the ongoing care of trees, land and water underpins every piece of fruit produced. Rendered in a relaxed silhouette, the design brings that relationship between cultivation and everyday life into focus.
