Nehma Vitols is an internationally awarded fashion designer and storyteller whose work sits at the intersection of craft, narrative, and place. Known for her textural, concept-driven approach, she creates garments that function as wearable archives, each piece a response to real stories, people, and process.
A 2026 finalist for the Gamechanger award at the Ragtrader Australian Fashion Industry Awards, Nehma has been featured in Vogue Italia and is a recipient of the International Emerging Designer Award. Her practice blends traditional craftsmanship with experimental design techniques to explore the relationship between industry and artistry. Earlier in her career she was accepted into the Royal College of Art in London, before ultimately choosing to build her practice in regional Australia.
Now based in the Riverina, she brings a global perspective to regional creative practice. Vintage 2025 wove the stories of the seven women shaping the region's wine industry into a made-to-order collection and oral history archive. Citrus Threads, launching October 2026, documents the citrus-growing families of the Riverina across a runway, exhibition, and archive. The work celebrates endurance, identity, and creation, reminding us that strength, like great design, is built, not born.
