The Press Bomber captures the moment citrus is transformed from whole fruit into something entirely different. Enlarged blood orange cross-sections collide across the body, their rich reds and dark shadows creating an almost industrial intensity.
Pulling paint through a screen takes pressure, and so does juicing, which much of the region’s fruit is grown for. Both rely on force, contact and repetition to transform raw material. Photographed close and scaled up, the painted fruit becomes graphic, and the structured bomber silhouette brings the language of agricultural production into an everyday wardrobe.
