The Last Light Drape
The Last Light Drape considers what remains after the harvest, both materially and culturally. Soft painted citron slices fade across pale fabric, their muted forms suggesting the passing of time and the traces left by repeated work.
The archive exists to keep a record that will still be here when the people in it are not, and the photographs behind these prints do the same for fruit that has long since softened. Created through whole cloth draping, the fabric is gathered and suspended around the body with minimal interruption, and the exposed selvedge preserves the original boundary of the textile, making its material history part of the design. The asymmetric form lets the cloth fall naturally, treating legacy as something carried forward rather than fixed in place.
Silk satin. Whole cloth draped construction. Pale citron print. Exposed selvedge edges. One shoulder asymmetric silhouette. Fluid full length.
